Drumming by Steve Fox

Welcome to FoxyMusic.com! I'm a drummer based Boulder, Colorado with a background in studio recording and live performance. I have been chasing the music habit since 1979, when I started out on trumpet in the elementry school band. The public school's music program held jazz clinics where I watched and learned from greats such as Buddy Rich and Dizzy Gillespie, sparking an early interest in improvisational music. In high school I switched over to drums as my weapon of choice. Since then I've played hundreds of live shows and worked on a variety of record promotion campaigns and concert tours, including drum technician and lighting director for Robin Trower' s 1997 U.S. Tour.

I hope you enjoy the music and thanks for visiting!

UPDATED 8/6/2008:

It's Official! The debut Burning Abigail CD, All About The Groove! has been released. After a long weekend of preparing mailing lists and stuffing padded mailers, I was thrilled to drop the CDs off at the post office Monday morning. Our initial promotion will service over 150 radio stations, newspapers and magazines nationally. The release party will be August 23rd at the Little Bear in Evergreen from 4-8:00pm. All About The Groove! was recorded from January - June at Colorado Sound here in Denver with engineer Steve Avedis (Edwin McCain). Mastering engineer Bill Wolf (Grateful Dead) completed the production in Arlington, VA during June. Radio promotion and publicity support is being provided by Relax Music Group (Tracy Chapman, Robin Trower).

I'm thilled to announce my endorsement deal with Po Boy Drums. Denver-based Po Boy Drums owner Tony Chadwick has helped guide me through wood selections, drum sizes, hardware options, and custom finishes. The A.M.Y. Custom drum set was custom built from the ground up by Tony himself. Photos of the new drum set are coming soon.

Burning Abigail plays at Baker Street Pub(s) in Denver, The Little Bear in Evergreen and elsewhere. Check out the live shows page for my latest bookings.
