Drumming by Steve Fox

Welcome to FoxyMusic.com! I'm a drummer based Boulder, Colorado with a background in studio recording and live performance. I have been chasing the music habit since 1979, when I started out on trumpet in the elementry school band. The public school's music program held jazz clinics where I watched and learned from greats such as Buddy Rich and Dizzy Gillespie, sparking an early interest in improvisational music.

In high school I switched over to drums as my weapon of choice. I've become a huge fan of the Grateful Dead, Phish and other bands who paved the way to acceptance of improvisation in the rock music genre. Since then I've played hundreds of live shows and worked on a variety of record promotion campaigns and concert tours, including drum technician and lighting director for Robin Trower' s 1997 U.S. Tour.

I hope you enjoy the music and thanks for visiting!

UPDATED 5/3/2009

This spring I've been putting in the overtime with two great bands out of Boulder, Casual Crisis and 100 Mile House. Check out their links for live rehearsal tracks, previous studio recordings, and more information. Both are hard at work putting the finishng touches on the live shows, with our first shows planned for this summer. Look for Casual Crisis at the post-ride party for Ride The Rockies in June.

Big Thanks to Denver-based Po Boy Drums owner Tony Chadwick for the drum endorsement. Tony has helped guide me through wood selections, drum sizes, hardware options, and custom finishes. The A.M.Y. Custom drum set was custom built from the ground up by Tony himself. Photos of the new drum set are coming soon.
